Syngas composition influence on gas cleaning efficiency
Menšíková, Barbora ; Lisý, Martin (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of pollution of the generated gas after the gasification process and its subsequent cleaning using a barrier filter. The theoretical part of thesis consists of research on the gasification process, the effects on the gasification process, pollutants in the gas and gas cleaning with a focus on the purification of gas from tar. The experimental part of this thesis is devoted to the gasification itself in a fluidized bed gasification reactor in order to test the effect of the catalyst, which was calcined dolomite, the composition of the gas at variable parameters of water vapor and the temperature inside the laboratory filter.
Low Temperature Fuel Cells H2-O2 with Anionic and Bipolar Membrane
Barath, Peter ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
The doctoral thesis deals with investigation of the catalysts and ionexchanege membranes for fuel cells H2-O2. The work contains the basic principles of chemical reactions, thermodynamic aspects and kinetic properties in PEM fuel cells.Ion-exchagers based on fluorinated polymer sulfonic acids known as NAFION are used in most cases. These compounds are very expensive. Also a strong corrosive attribute requires platinum as a catalysator. These facts make the membrane fuel cells fully non-competetive with e.g. internal combustion engine in spite of all ecological advantages of this electrical power source. The subject of doctoral thesis is research and development of compounds for the composite electrode materials base on NiOx, Ni-Pd and Raney Ni suitable as catalysts a nd alkaline or bipolar ionexchange membranes for electrochemical fuel cells.
Direct Synthesis of High-Molecular Polymers of Lactic Acid
Mikulík, David ; Kupka, Vojtěch (referee) ; Petrůj, Jaroslav (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the direct synthesis of polymers from lactic acid. The theoretical part focuses on both natural and synthetic ways of production the lactic acid monomer, their advantages and properties. Furthermore, the theoretical part focuses on the synthesis of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) from lactide, and direct polycondensation from lactic acid discussing about influences of catalysts, co-catalysts as well as chain extenders. The experimental part focuses on the synthesis of PLA polymers and co-polymers wherein investigates suitable catalysts, reaction medium for azeotropic dehydration and co-catalyst influence on products. Thermal and analytical analysis of PLA polymers are mentioned at the end of the experimental part.
Reduction of nitrogen oxides from the flue gas stream on catalysts under non-standard conditions
Minář, Marek ; Brummer, Vladimír (referee) ; Jecha, David (advisor)
The objective of the presented diploma thesis is reduction of nitrogen oxides from the flue gas stream on catalyst under non-standart conditions. Emphasis is places on the description of selected pollutants in flue gas (especially nitrogen oxides), legislative requirements for air protection and technologies for removal of nitrogen oxides, expecially methods of selective catalytic and non-catalytic reduction. The practical part is devoted to the reduction of nitrogen oxides by selective catalytic reduction on a pilot plant INTEQ II in the laboratory NETME Center. The subject of interest is the determination of the NOx reduction efficiency depend on the temperature for selected catalyst. The end of the practical part pursues with comparison of measurement results and their evaluation.
